lyrics

By way
Of a song
Denis Solis
projected all the wrongs

Of a beast
Back in ’59 That promised
Transparent democracy
And blind justice

But only
Engorged itself
Of what little wealth The people
Manage to build

By nationalizing
Bricks and flesh
This devil granting it’s promised freedom
Only at their bullet holed hungry deaths

Shoot at the monstruo in the cracked smudgy mirror
Then the shards shatter scatter echo orbit bitter glitter
A Million brilliant testimonies hitched on the wind
Blowing Into everyone’s eyes now the whole world knows your sins

State police
Enter in
Solis’ home
No warrant, no reason given

With his mirror mouth
Denis proclaimed
The cop was just a rape puppet
In Raul’s self-preservation game

2 days later
Solis was dragged away
Sentence for the insults
8 months in a cage

But at a room
In San Isidro
Friends of Denis
Assemble

Broadcasting to the planet
Their solidarity and fasting
Declaring their bodies restrained
But their spirits free

And Under the cover of doctors robes
Again came in the cops
For interrogations and “healing” detention-
Everyone is carried off

Father Marti said that when the truth awakes
It never goes back to sleep
History tells us change will not come with a new king
But only when the rich, poor, ugly and beautiful are revered and cherished equally

Maybe, these days, your repression is normalized
Your crimes, even might be, celebrated and subsidized
But The screams of, your victims, grate tremors cross stones and bones
And on, judgement day, you’ll have to face God alone
